Beheadings seem to become the "New & Improved" killing method for Mexican drug cartels. Intimidation using regular killings methods and kidnappings wasn't considered appropriate any longer in an era where these killings have become so mainstream in the national and international media, that the only way to draw attention to one's cause is by beheading your enemy. There have been several reports in the U.S. and Mexican media about heads found on properties, thrown in discos and posted on fences to make a show of force.

What make them change their techniques?

 

* They were using those techniques before the war in Iraq. So they really didn't change...it just exponentially  increased in the past couple of years.

* They had access to specific training manuals - 101 of non-conventional war fighting..

* They watched mainstream news on middle eastern events - and learned their lessons

* They are receiving training from overseas OR They are importing teachers and students (based on the logic that there are so many extra fighters taught in the art of non-conventional warfare that AQ leaders would consider sending some to the new "promised land" of South American Anti-American Allies. That would be great strategy on their part...what's our strategy to counter that? Do we even have one?

Why would a primarily catholic country - on the verge of complete economic socialism - allow for Islamic terrorists to find refuge in its midst?
